My Summer Journal
In the summer of 2025, Sunderland hosted several major cultural and sporting events, including the Women’s Rugby World Cup Fan Parade on August 22, the Sunderland Fashion Show on July 26, the Sunderland Food & Drink Festival from June 6–8, and Urban Fest on August 2–3. These events brought together people of all ages and backgrounds, showcasing the city’s vibrant community spirit and cultural diversity. Highlights included the Fan Parade leading up to the opening match between England and the USA at the Stadium of Light, the fashion show celebrating local designers, the food festival offering a wide range of street food and entertainment, and Urban Fest featuring street sports, live performances, and creative workshops. Documenting these events provided valuable insights into Sunderland’s dynamic cultural landscape, made possible by the support of the City Council and local organizations.
